Saona is named after the river where the grandfather of the company's founder and his two sons would bring their mule-drawn cart full of wool fleeces. They washed and dried their precious wool on the banks of the Saona River before it was carded, spun, and finally woven into blankets at the family mill.
A tribute to previous generations, Saona is a yarn full of nuances both in its texture and tones.
The colors in the Saona yarn palette were designed in collaboration with Hailey Smedley (@Ozetta)whose work is also inspired by family traditions, rooted in her love for her grandmother who taught her to knit.
WoolDreamers prioritizes sourcing natural fibers cultivated with compassion for the animals and land, building relationships with ranchers and a shared vision for the future of heritage wools in Spain. The production chain is kept short as all of WoolDreamers’ yarns are produced with traceable wools in their won own Okeo-tex certified mill.
