Learn how to confidently knit top- or cuff-down socks. This straightforward method of sock knitting will make you LOVE making hand knit socks. Plus, socks are a great small project you can take anywhere you go! No prior sock experience is required.

This class will cover the Magic Loop method, proper sock sizing, basic construction, how to work the gusset and heel flap, and finishing techniques.

Students should already know the long-tail cast-on method and how to knit and purl in the round.

Materials: One skein of worsted weight yarn, such as Malabrigo Rios, US 3 and US 5, 32- or 40-inch long circular knitting needles, bent tip darning needle, and a stitch marker (optional). We recommend ChiaoGoo Red Lace knitting needles for Magic Loop knitting.

You'll also need a copy of Tin Can Knit's sock pattern, Rye Worsted, available in the shop, on Ravelry, or for FREE in the new Tin Can Knits app!

Prerequisites: Must know the long-tail cast-on method.
